Getting hot in here!  I have no idea the rest of the lyrics of that song and have only heard it once or twice ... but it did get warm again this past week.  One day of rain though which was both really nice and odd at the same time.  I thought it was a passing shower but ended up staying (off and on) the whole day.  But then the rest of the week was warm to hot again (except the nights thank goodness!).  I was able to avoid turning on the AC though, the days it was super hot I stayed down stairs where it was much cooler with the ceiling fan spinning and that was enough (for now).  I don't know if warmer temps will be coming soon or later but I know at some point and time the AC will have to come on again.  I wish it could run off of gas instead of electricity!!

Weekly Update:
What happened this week ... anything?  The days are blurred together and the nights are tiresome and sleepless (most times).  We are in such a odd time which is full of turmoil and politically, getting much worse.  We have become the bully of the world, the laughing stock and no longer an example except of what not to do.  I find it funny how our enemies are now our friends and our friends are no longer there.  I think the word "terrorist" is clearly an American example and who used to be terrorist to us are sitting back watching us implode.  Why attack the US, they are attacking themselves and we can just watch and enjoy.  Take a break guys, we got this handle for you.  Our swamp didn't get drained at all, it just expanded and now the dead are floating in the water that wasn't changed out but recycled in to itself.  Sad days right now and more sad days coming.

At the movies:
Due to theatres being closed for the time being, no new updates for movies at this time.

The Castro Theatre in San Francisco.  First opened in 1910 in what is known as the Castro District of San Francisco, California.  It was named the 100th Landmark of the city and last heard still has one of the few 70 mm projectors left to work.  Continues to show movies but also used for special events, festivals and presentations.

Talk about a nice Spring-esque weather we are having!  I am so happy with it that the days are steady cool and I have the windows open for some great cross-breezes.  So far it has maintained itself in the low 70's (it could be higher but the breezes are making a big difference).  The nights are super chilly which I like, I just wish I prepared for it though and used the heavier blanket for night but I thought we were heading into Summer!  I don't know who's dog this is in the picture but it is how this week has been!  Sunny, cool and you just want to be lazy and roll around in the fresh grass.  I think this self-quarantine is actually pretty awesome ... nature is healing itself!

Weekly Update:
You know I do love going to Costco that I probably go too much!  But this last time was for my neighbor as they needed some medicines they use regularly.  But before going inside, I have to get my $1.50 hot dog and soda!  So, the lady right in front of me first off never moved forward in the line and just stood there on her phone that someone else behind me had to tell her to move up.  Then when she got to the window, the server asked for her membership card to scan.  She was shocked and didn't know you had to have your membership to order food (fortunately she had it in her purse but we all had to wait for her to get it out).  As I watched her do that, I noticed there was a sign on the window both to the left and right of this lady.  AND there was a third sign right above the window opening as well ... All three signs said the exact same thing in big print (as pictured) ... how could you miss that??  Always amazed how obviously some people can be to their surroundings.

At the movies:
Due to theatres being closed for the time being, no new updates for movies at this time.

The Arcadia Theater in Kerville, TX.  This classic art deco theatre was built in 1926 as a Spanish Mission, later converted to a theatre.  The theatre is still there and will re-open this year hosting classic films, live music, comedy shows and private functions.

Hot and cold!  This week saw less hot and more cold which is such a relief.  I know Summer is nearly here but not ready for it and kind of hoping with all the quarantine going around and less cars on the road, we have been giving nature a chance to fix a lot of things like pollution.  I know once things are back to normal it will be back and bad again but at least we can enjoy the clear and clean air for a little bit.  The picture on the left isn't mine but that is what it's been looking like where I can actually see more than a mile!

Weekly Update:

The other day I was trying to enjoy a kind of snack mix, not chex but some other brand, probably generic and the pretzel's in a snack mix ... they are always my  least favorite!  I like the big doughy kind you get warm at a theme park or event but why are these little buggers so dry?  Flavor profile is either very boring or a tad too salty most of the time but I hate wasting them and try to eat them all first so at the end, I have the rest of the delicious components to enjoy.  But I don't understand what is with these tiny bite size things that kind of absorb all the moisture away in my mouth and makes it bone dry ... or maybe that is the gimmick when they give these away (for free) at bars so you want to buy a drink!  A HA!  That might be it!!  I don't know but I don't care for them unless I am super hungry.

At the movies:
Due to theatres being closed for the time being, no new updates for movies at this time.

The Grand Theatre in Grand Island, Nebraska.  Unsure if it is currently showing movies any longer but it has been available for private and special events with it's classic slopped theatre seating design from the early 40's and 50's era.  It once played first run movies (single screen) and may still do so depending on the film and surrounding locations.  But unlikely it has regular showings of mainstream films.

HOT!  Has summer finally arrived?  So we hit temperatures close to 100 degrees this past week but I am sure it was only high 80's to low 90's.  But working in an upstairs part of the house, heat rises so it could have been very close to 100 in the house simply due to that fact!  Again had to run the AC here and there but as soon as the heat broke (around 7 to 8PM) I opened up all the windows and turned off that AC!  It got cooler and cooler which I could leave the windows open through the night and then come 10 to 11AM the following day, close them all back up.  Repeated that process for a few days and hopefully I managed to keep the AC at a minimum but hard to tell.  I just hope that electric bill isn't crazy but I feel over the past year or two I have done a pretty good job in general!

Weekly Update:
So a donut shop I drive by a lot was closed for while and it finally re-opened.  Everyone wearing masks and they have a drive-thru.  I am curious why they had to close in the first place if they have a drive-thru unless someone who worked there got sick.  I think they were closed for at least 2 to 3 weeks and just makes you wonder because they could have just closed the inside part and been drive-thru only as a lot of places have been doing.  It's a fairly big place for a donut shop and I see about 3 to 4 people working there all the time.  Just makes you wonder.

At the movies:
Due to theatres being closed for the time being, no new updates for movies at this time.

This week's image is the Rialto in
Aitkin, MN.  This used to play films when the "talkies" first started and as far as we know this film still shows first run films for it's local movie-going community.
