So the week in general was both busy and nice.  Some great and awesome breezes came and went but oh boy, the weekend got HOT and even humid!  I seriously felt like I was back in Florida during peak Summer time!  What is going on with this weather, I have no clue.  I mean, I guess its still Summer but we were doing so good with just slightly warm days and very nice nights.  But man, Saturday and Sunday were nothing but miserable and the forecast calls for continued heat through next week.  I so hope that is so so wrong because ... just don't need it!  I hope Winter is extra cold this year or tons of rain.  Something to compensate for all of this crazy heat we are having.

Weekly Update:
Was a pretty busy week but on Tuesday went to a special event for Stan Lee.  Loosely in the style of "This is Your Life" and brought some talent with me to help celebrate.  It was being broadcast in over 180 movie theatres coast-to-coast and also saw folks I knew and got to catch up as well.  Also it was at this really beautiful theatre in downtown, the Saban Theatre which felt very historic.  Also met some new great folks as well:

*Alan Tudyk - Known for many movies including "Rogue One" and the TV series "Firefly," awesome guy!
*Hal Sparks - I know him best from "Dude, Where's My Car?" and a super chill guy.
*Tom Bergeron - host from "Dancing with the Stars" and "America's Funniest Home Videos," really nice guy.
*Rza - from the Wu-Tang Clan and really chill.
*Pom Klementieff - recently from "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2" film and super sweet.

At the movies:
Not much of a weekend and may continue like this through Labor Day.  Holding ground at #1 is "The Hitman's Bodyguard" with another 10.1 mil as it does OK.  Holding at #2 is "Annabelle: Creation" with an extra 7.4 mil as it struggles to 100 mil but will likely fall short.  New at #3 is Leap! with 5 mil to open and about expectations.  Jumping up to #4 is "Wind River" as it expanded and gets 4.4 mil at the box office.  Not a big film and will likely dip next week.  Rounding off the top 5 is "Logan Lucky" with 4.4 mil and not so much luck on this one anymore.

New films that did not make the top 5:
Two of them this week, coming in at #8 is Birth of the Dragon with only 2.5 mil and slightly less then expectations but also not surprising at all.  In at #16 is All Saints with only 1.6 mil and also below expectations but no surprises either.

Cool down!!  Finally had a cooler week this week but what was even better, the nights were chilly!  And I like that so I can get under the covers and snuggle up. I still don't need a jacket and can wear shorts so its not cold, just chilly.  Not sure but I would guess mid 60's maybe.  That is kind of perfect although I wouldn't mind putting on a jacket since I have so many but no reason to wear them out!  Now if we can just work on the days and get those 20 degrees cooler, that would be awesome.  I mean it isn't super hot, just warm but a lot cooler than it was a few weeks ago during that 100 degree heat wave.  At least it felt 100 but we had humidity which isn't like us to have at all.  Not sure where it came from but its not part of our weather-cycle.  Sure we get fires and earthquakes; and our seasons are Summer, Earthquake, Summer and Fire.

Weekly Update:

So I went to Gen BBQ again this week and they finally had their official grand opening!  The prices were the same during as the soft opening so I am wondering if they will change soon.  I have been told other Gen BBQ's are about $10 more for dinner but I like the $20.99 price so far!  If it changes, I may not be eager to go again till a very long time.  Right now it is well worth the price but not sure for $29.99, that is iffy since it doesn't include basic drinks like soda.  If it did, then possibly still worth it.  Flavors are comparable to other places but the slices of bacon are extra thick which I have never seen before.  Atmosphere is really nice, kind of trendy but not over the top.  Every table is well lite so you can see what you are eating.  I really do hope they keep the price where it is at or even $24.99 I would go for.  So much delicious foods.

At the movies:
A new #1 at the box office as The Hitman's Bodyguard earns a fair 21.6 million.  Right on expectations but not much for a long term box office.  Drop down to #2 is "Annabelle: Creation" with another 10.5 mil as it looks like it will fall short of 100 mil for domestic.  New at #3 is Logan Lucky with only 8 mil to open and also right at expectations.  This should be a fast burn at the box office as well.  Holding on to #4 is "Dunkirk" with an extra 6.7 mil as it tries to reach 200 mil cume but unlikely it will.  Rounding off the top 5 is "The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature" with another 5.1 mil and also quickly burning out for the Summer season.

So the weather report said rain was coming this week ... it lied.  NO rain showed up and I was sad.  It was pretty cloudy but still would liked to have some water from the skies.  How is our weather so inaccurate all the time??  I've mentioned this before, don't we possess the technology to be some what accurate than way off?  I know you can't be so precise but come on, be within the ballpark at least.  I kind of feel like with our global warming situation (yes, it is true and if you believe otherwise than I am sure the world is flat to you too), it is causing not only this odd weather pattern we are having and not just hear but globally.  But its causing quicker shifts in weather and such. Is that why its getting harder to predict the weather or the degree of certainty is so off still when it should be so much better??

Weekly Update:
So in a couple of Monday's the biggest solar eclipse will take place that hasn't been in seen in decades.  I guess where I live is in the optimal spot for it but still will get some of its effects.  A  lot of warnings on how to view it.  I think I will just stay inside and watch it on TV later.  But what is an eclipse?  Basically when the moon passes in front of the Sun blocking it out.  We have them all the time but mostly partial ones or where we won't see in the States but other parts of the world can.  This will be one the US will get the full effect of it across from coast-to-coast.  Some will get it fully than others though but North America in general.  Should be interesting to see how dark it does get and for how long.

At the movies:
A new #1 scares its way to the top as Annabelle: Creation earns a hefty 35 million for its debut.  Above all expectations and good word-of-mouth on this film and might bring it to 100 mil, next week will be the telling factor.  Slight drop to #2 is "Dunkirk" with another 11.4 mil as it slows down but continues to get award buzz.  New at #3 is The Nut Job 2: Nutty By Nature earning only 8.9 mil which was expected.  Big drop to #4 is "The Dark Tower" with another 7.9 mil and a quick burn off.  Rounding off the top 5 is "The Emoji Movie" with an extra 6.6 mil and also another quick burn amidst very bad reviews.

New movies that did not make the top 5:
Just one this week as The Glass Castle comes in at #9 earning 4.9 mil, not a surprise in this number and almost at expectations.

Still seeing a heat wave going on with no end in sight.  Drinking a lot of water but mostly trying to stay indoors with AC!  I hate running the AC at home because it is pretty costly but then I will sweat by doing nothing and that seems pretty illogical to me.  What if we had personal AC units built into a suit that runs water thus cooling the body ... like the movie "Dune" and still suits.  But I guess that isn't really for cooling but more for water supply and re-purposing ... Ok then how about a cooling bed that you lay in like a coffin and then you can nap and stay in a temperature controlled stasis ... but then I guess that can be very unconformable  for a lot of people.  Well, I am out of ideas then.

Weekly Update:
Not much of a week, nothing exciting or worth while happened to think of.  Was a normal work week I guess in general.  I did try to sleep some and go to bed earlier but that never happened.  I think I accidentally fell asleep at the keyboard once not realizing I had done that.  I didn't remember what I was doing before and just kept doing what I was doing.  I know that didn't make sense but trust me, it does in my head!  Well, the struggle continues to get some rest or sleep.  I might take a vacation day because I am maxed out.

At the movies:
Pretty soft box office weekend as The Dark Tower takes top honors with only a 19.5 million opening.  Reviews are middle of the road but this comic-book adaptation didn't hit.  Slightly below expectations but a sign the Summer could be over.  Slight drop to #2 is "Dunkirk" with an extra 17.6 mil and slowly down as well.  Big drop at #3 is "The Emoji Movie" with another 12.4 mil and quickly getting the sad face.  Slight drop to #4 is "Girls Trip" earning 11.4 mil more as it closes in on 100 mil.  Reachable for this film but could take a bit more time. New and rounding off the top 5 is Kidnap with 10.2 mil and actually right at expectations.

New movies that did not make the top 5:
Just one but it really was an expansion.  In at #8 is Detroit for its 2nd week and earns 7.3 mil, slight below expectations but more of an award contender for the newly formed distribution company.
