The rain and weather reports are such a big tease! We were supposed to have a couple of days of rain, great. Not a lot but at least some ... both were shut out, no rain! Which kind of sucks. I sometimes drive by this reservoir and it usually has water in it. This week it was completely empty, dry to the bone, not even a puddle (not pictured, just using that to show an example). I was kind of shocked to see it that way because through the years it always had some kind of water in it to varying levels. I mean they could have drained it but why? It has nothing but dirt at the bottom and there is nothing else really around it but the streets. We should could have used that rain, even just a little of it.
Weekly Update:
This has been another exhausting week! I don't know why I can't sleep at night and of course I am so tired through the day. And I do get tired and want to go to bed and fall asleep but don't ... why oh why? I feel like my mind is blank and turned off but who knows. And of course I wake up shortly after I go to sleep, at least it feels like that. It feels like you catch about an hour of sleep ... I am able to nap during the day but that is usually only about 10 to 20 minutes tops but no where near enough needed. Why sleep, why must you evade me so!
At the movies:
A new thriller takes the crown this weekend as Us opens at #1 with a hefty 70.3 million! Nearly double expectations and on track to get close to 200 mil. Slight drop down to #2 is "Captain Marvel" with 35 mil and now past the 300 mil cume mark. Holding ground at #3 is "Wonder Park" with 9 mil extra and this may close early. Holding at #4 is "Five Feet Apart" with another 8.8 mil and soon to be out of the charts. Rounding off the top 5 is "How to Train your Dragon: The Hidden World" with 6.5 mil more as it soon caps out.

Ok, it got hot this past weekend then one would expect. So no rain and warmer temps during the day but at least the night stayed cool. But boy it was only 80 but felt closer to 90 at times. It is still early so ... will this be a pre-cursor of what will be coming this Summer? I hope not or my AC will be on a lot and my electric bill crazy. I did check into a low cost, smaller solar panel and ... wow it is cheap and would pay for itself maybe within the year easily but it seems very complicated to install unless you know electricity which I do not. So would the cost of having someone do it completely throw the savings out the window?
Weekly Update:
I like surveys ... I don't know why but I just like answering questions or giving my opinion. Surveys are fun and this week I got two for the same thing from two different companies! One of the companies, I use to know a bunch of people who worked there till they downsized which was sad. The other company is JD Powers and that was more an extensive and in-depth survey. Regardless they were both fun to take and I was able to do it fairly quickly while I was working. It is also fun you get to be entered into a sweepstakes but I would do it anyway because ... I like surveys!
At the movies:
Higher! Holding ground for a 2nd weekend is "Captain Marvel" earning another 69.3 million and now past 250 mil cume for a 10-day domestic total. Currently on track to hit 400 when it is said and done. New at #2 is Wonder Park with 16 mil to open and not much for a family fun film for Spring Break. New at #3 is Five Feet Apart with 13.2 mil and close to expectations. Holding on to the #4 spot is "How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World" with another 9.4 mil. Rounding off the top 5 is "Tyler Perry's A Madea Family Funeral" with an extra 8.1 mil as is dies out.
New movies that did not make the top 5:
Just one this week as Captive State kind of snuck in with a wider than expected release. Opening on 2500 runs and taking the #7 spot, it earns a very poor 3.2 mil.

The rain came back! So our temperatures got warmer (still in the 50's range but not 30's) but we managed to get almost 2 days of rain. I thought it was going to be heavy but nope, it turned out to be very light to drizzle like but very consistent throughout the day. It is supposed to rain some more during this coming week but Sunday it stopped in the morning. So hoping the new rains to come is heavy and stays for a bit longer but right now only shows it for a couple of days. We just need more and more rain ... this is no where near enough to recover from the drought.
Weekly Update:
This was a pretty eventual week for me. I attended the 13th Annual Young Variety Pool Tournament and this year's honoree ... me! It was awkward but also cool at the same time. Being a part of Variety for over 3 decades; from selling gold hearts in the theatre to now being honored with an event I helped launch. Such a rewarding experience and hope to do more in the years to come. And also thanks to the friends, sponsors and talent that came to support the cause. Managed some more pictures with some new faces:
*Gustavo Gomez - From "The Walking Dead" franchise and great guy.
*Massi Furlan - From "Versace" to NCIS franchise, super nice guy.
*Alfonso DiLuca - From "Jane the Virgin" and very nice guy.
*Cameron Jebo - From The Power Ranger world and super awesome guy.
*Michael Copon - From "One Tree Hill" series and a nice guy.
*Jason Faunt - Also from The Power Range fame and cool guy.
At the movies:
The beast stays on top as "How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World" fends off the #1 spot for a 2nd week earning an extra 30.1 million. Just inches short of 100 mil but should get that by tomorrow night. New at #2 is Tyler Perry's A Madea Family Funeral with 27.1 mil and not to far from expectations. Holding at #3 is "Alita: Battle Angel" with 7 mil more and will fall short of hitting 100 mil cume. Hanging on to #4 is "The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part" with 6.6 mil and should break 100 mil soon. Rounding off the top 5 and jumping up in the rankings is "Green Book" with 4.7 mil.
New movies that did not make the top 5:
Just one this week as Greta comes in at #8 with only 4.6 mil and as expected.
