Viva La Americas

Had the opportunity (again) to see the Superbowl in person up in the Bay Area, San Francisco with the New England Patriots versus the Seattle Seahawks.  I wasn't really rooting for either team but if I had to pick one, I went Seattle being a West Coast person and they won!  The game was kind of a blow-out like last year but the whole experience of going to the game is always amazing.  The seats were incredible, about 16th row from the field but on the Patriots side so when they did the trophy ceremony, it was on the opposite side since that was the Seahawk side.  But the game, the excitement and energy is always way better live than on TV or on a large screen TV at like a bar or some remote event.  Also, around the stadium they have a lot of booths and some freebies you can get ranging from shots of booze to ice cream Snickers.  This year was kind of light compared to Vegas 2-years ago, that one had so much going on but this past one felt about half that but still fun to be around.  The weather was cool as well (low 70's) but getting hit directly by the Sun made it feel like 80+ and got me tired and a bit dizzy at times if I was just standing there.  But overall, Superbowl LX (60) in the books.

Weekly Update:

The halftime show during the game was both amazing and not amazing.  The music and energy were great but visually seeing it was a bit lackluster if you were there in the stadium.  There wasn't a massive stage like before but rows of hedges as Bad Bunny performed and walked through them.  So from an audience stand point, couldn't see him unless looking at the jumbotrons.  You could hear him singing but that was about it except those rare moments where he was on a power pole, on top of a truck or on the roof of the shack.  I wis there was a stage or hoping that truck would drive him around the field so everyone could get a chance to see him up close.  I would say that was the only negative thing about the show, not seeing him throughout.  But, everything else was amazing and great music.

At the movies:

Holding on to #1 is Send Help with another 10 million as it slowly declines and will end up wrapping up soon.  New at #1 is Solo Mio with 7.2 mil to open and not a bad number for what appears to be a low-budget, low box office studio right now. Drop down to #3 is Iron Lung with 6 mil extra and a pretty significant drop at that, this will quickly burn out. New at #4 is Stray Kids: The DominATE Experience for 5.5 mil and this may be a quick one in and out. New and rounding off the top 5 is Dracula with 4.5 mil and the day is quickly approaching on this one which will be dust soon.

New movies that did not make the top 5:

Just one this week at #8, The Strangers: Chapter 3
with 3.5 mil to open on a wide release pattern and yep, begs the question there was a Chapter 1 and 2?

Facts & Tips:

A pelican can hold more food in its beak than its belly.

"For the crime of disobedience, you should all be executed as common criminals, but you and your men follow the old ways of Bushido, to honor your lord and to avenge treachery. I see only samurai before me. I grant you the samurai's death, to be buried alongside your lord, with honor." - Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa as Shogun Tsunayoshi in 47 Ronin.
