New Year's Eve Edition

Doing this one a day early since these post technically after midnight on Sunday.  So, that means today is New Year's Eve!  No plans for me this evening other than making sure the puppy isn't going to be scared from all the fireworks going off as they do every where.  And they will go through probably 1AM if not longer ... it will be a very long night of a quivering puppy.  And I have to wake up early the next morning.   Just won't be a fun night at all for me.

Weekly Update:
Was pretty cold this week but still recovering from a cold I got.  Been doing the vitamin C along with Tylenol, cough meds for the day and NyQuil at night.  Also cough drops constantly and having a running nose to go with it.  I have gone through a lot of tissue, glad I stalked up when they were on sale a few months back.  But, now it feels on the tail end and there is less coughing and less running nose.  Still on certain meds and hitting the OJ to keep the vitamins going.  Just hope to fully kick this very very soon because being sick just really sucks.  Your body just wants to do nothing but rest which is also a good thing but not all the time thing.

At the movies:
The seas roar with numbers as "Aquaman" earns a big 51.5 million for the holiday week.  Now shy of 200 mil and will likely get that by the end of this week.  Word-of-mouth still very strong on this film and on track to hit 300.  Slight bump and holding at #2 is "Mary Poppins Returns" with 28 mil and just shy of 100 mil.  Should obtain that by tomorrow.  Holding to #3 is "Bumblebee" with 20.5 mil and still at the end of this race.  Swinging
around at #4 is "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" with 18.3 mil and just breaking the 100 mil mark.  Not a lot of pep left in this one but should do a little more.  Rounding off the top 5 is "The Mule" with 11.8 mil as it's getting more award buzz.

New movies that did not make the top 5:
Just the 2 new ones this week.  Up first is Vice at #6 with 15.4 mil and close to expectations but this type of film may have legs with award season starting just a week away.  Up next at #7 is Holmes and Watson with only 19.7 mil and well below all expectations.  The buddy team-up comedy of Ferrell and Reilly may be over.  NOTE: These numbers are based on Tues - Sun, ranking is based on Fri-Sun numbers.

Quote of the week:
"The limits of the possible can only be defined by going beyond them into the impossible." - Arthur C. Clarke

Facts & Tips:
Sloths move so slow that algae can grow on them.

"He drunk and he got my Ginsu knife!" - Peter Kwong as The Cook in the TV series "Malcolm & Eddie."
