So this blog system now has fixed the photo issue when using Mozilla ... again I wonder what new thing will go down. Sometimes if feels like the Millennium Falcon of systems where it works enough to function but not to top performance. AND then you have to whack it on the side to get it going at times. "What a piece of junk" as Luke Skywalker said when he first laid eyes on it ... and so it is ... so it is. But the current new problem is upon us as the "save" function wasn't even working for most of Friday and kind of off-and-on during the week. Why does this thing have so many issues!!! Google sucks.

Weekly Update:
So on Friday at work they held an outdoor event to kick off the new season of upcoming ABC shows. They had various booths with some games and activities for shows like "Grey's Anatomy" and "Ugly Betty." It was a pretty nice event despite the heat and I got to take some pics with a couple of "General Hospital" cast members:

*Nancy Grahn- Incredibly friendly person!
*Brandon Barash- Very cool dude!

Then later that night, I attended a special fundraiser which helps girls and young women in Africa with education called The Batonga Foundation and hopefully gets them out of harms way in those depressed countries. They have kind of a cool logo that is a butterfly (not sure what it represents in this particular organization) and in the wings you see the continent of Africa. During the event I got to meet some nice folks:

*Megalyn Echikunwoke- She was just casted for the new season of "CSI: Miami" and I sat next to her for dinner. A very charming and beautiful girl.
*Ziggy Marley- Nice guy, BIG hat.
*Angelique Kidjo- One of the host of the evening and spokesperson for the foundation. Also recent Grammy winner and an amazing singer!
*Holly Robinson-Peete- Best known for her role in "21 Jump Street" and an incredibly nice woman.

At the movies:
Kind of a dull time at the box office as the post-summer movies continue to be flushed out. In at #1 is the suspense film Lakeview Terrace with 15.6 million. Holding ground at #2 is "Burn After Reading" with an extra 11.3 mil. New at #3 is the comedy My Best Friend's Girl with only 8.3 mil. New at #4 is the animated feature Igor with only 8 mil. Rounding off the top 5 is "Righteous Kill" with 7.7 mil.

New movies that did not make the top 5: One this week as the comedy Ghost Town chimes in at the #8 spot with 5.2 mil this weekend.

Other News:
Sunday held the 60th Anniversary Primetime Emmy Awards at the new Nokia Theatre in Downtown LA. The usual star-studded night but the show wasn't overly political as some past Emmy's have been. The political humor was subtle at times yet funny while some were pretty bad. But a couple of my favorite shows won top honors including; "The Amazing Race" for Outstanding Reality-competition Program (this was their 6th Emmy win in a row), "30 Rock" for Outstanding Comedy Series, Alec Baldwin in "30 Rock" for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, Tina Fey in "30 Rock" for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, and "30 Rock" episode "Cooter" for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series. Congratulations to all nominees and winners ... till next year!

Well that Nokia theatre sure looks interesting. Tony, why do you get to go to these dinners and meet these stars? It's neat.
And I've been very good at complaining over life rather than recognizing my blessings. It is definitely a splendid thing that the wiring for surround sound in all hooked up. Can you suggest good speakers or what I should be looking for?
