New Year Edition

We were supposed to get rain but none showed up which was actually unfortunate.  During the day it was pretty windy as well so thought that would deter any fireworks shows but it did calm down by later afternoon, unfortunately.  So, the night was filled with lots and lots of fireworks till at least 2 or 3AM and I had to comfort a scared dog all night long.  I had the thundershirt on him, all the windows shut and even tried to play some youtube videos with the volume all the way.  Still could hear those bigger ones and still affected the poor pup.  He has always been afraid of a lot of loud noises but fireworks are definitely the worst.  But come morning he was fast asleep where as I had to start work.

Weekly Update:
It was a very dry but cold week!  Though the rain ended up not coming for the new year, the winter did.  Temps below 60, even hit 50 a few times and the highs were at most 72 degrees.  I guess even if it did rain, it wouldn't have been cold enough for snow or ice but it sure felt like it would be.  Probably because here, we don't get it so anything below 70's may feel freezing (and it does!).  But can you imagine if it did snow here a day in SoCali, it would be utter chaos because we have so many people and when it just rains, they can't remember how to drive.  So, if it snowed, it would be insanity ... however, I wouldn't mind seeing that to be honest!  I think it would be kind of amazing.

At the movies:
No major changes this past weekend as "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" holds the #1 spot for it's 3rd week with another 33.7 million.  Now at 450 mil cume, still on track to end in the mid to high 500 range.  Closing the gap a bit is "Jumanji: The Next Level" with 26.5 mil extra and breaks past 200 mil cume.  Holding at #3 is "Little Women" with 13.6 mil as it struggles a bit but could reach 100 mil.  New at #4 is The Grudge with 11.3 mil and very close to expectations.  However, with this film in the top 5, Sony now has spots 2, 3 and 4 with a combined weekend of over 50 mil!  Rounding off the top 5 is "Frozen 2" earning another 11.3 mil and quickly melting away but has reached 450 mil cume.
