You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade...

Did it rain this past week??  No, it did not but wow did some dark clouds roll in a few times this week in the afternoon, I thought it was going to rain!  We were supposed to have days in the 80's but as it turned out... we did but only one day that I saw and it hit 81 but felt like mid-70's so not that hot or warm at all.  Our weather is not making any sense but I shouldn't complain about it as it's been really nice.  I did leave my windows open one night and woke up with a very scratchy throat so I hope I don't get sick.  So far it hasn't gotten worse and a little better so I think I'm in the clear but, going to close those windows for now on, at least for awhile.  I thought it wouldn't get that cold but it did (in the 50's).

Weekly Update:

This past Thursday was the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day, the allied invasion of occupied France during World War II.  There were numerous celebrations happening that day in France to commemorate those who are still alive and served during the invasion.  Probably less than a dozen in total are still alive with us and I do hope they were treated with the utmost respect and royalty as this battle was the start of the turning of the war for the allies.  D-Day is the abbreviated name for what is called Day-Day or in other words the day of days... there is also a movie about it that I watch every June 6th called The Longest Day from 20th Century Fox and has an all-star cast from that era including; Seam Connery, Henry Fonda and John Wayne to name a few.  The allies mustered together over 156,000 troops, 11,590 aircrafts, 6,039 sea vessels and 50,000 vehicles.  It included nations from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Norway, Free France versus Germany.  In the end, the allied forces successfully landed and then started the push inland for the rest of France.

At the movies:

The boys are back and at #1 this week! Bad Boys: Ride or Die opens to a decent 56 million which is below it's previous film but much higher than the first two film.  No real buzz on this film in general so 2nd weekend will be the big tell on its overall performance.  Drop down to #2 is The Garfield Movie with 10 mil more as it will finish the Summer below the 100 mil mark.  Also slipping a spot down to #3 is IF with 8 mil and getting SO close to that 100 mil benchmark, could actually get it by next week too.  New at #4 is The Watchers with 7 million and will be a very fast burn out with that opening number.  Rounding off the top 5 is Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes with 5.4 mil and so far the biggest winner of the Summer but we are only getting started.
