Laboring

Labor Day Edition

Another year another labor day where some get the day off, others still have to work and do... well labor.  I usually labor on this day, in the past it used to be a 12 hour day of laboring so it's just another day for me like most holidays.  A lot celebrate it and these holidays... I don't see the point of celebrating them when you (and many many others) still have to work. It almost seems like holiday should be 2-days worth so half the work-force can enjoy the first day and then the other half the 2nd... but that isn't going to happen and not everyone will simply get to enjoy any holidays in the course of their year and work schedule.  We can't all take the same day off, the world would stop functioning... which would be pretty interesting to see.

Weekly Update:

So had some funky weather this week and can't make heads or tails out of it.  Overall it massively cooled down, thank goodness but then we had some rain and cloudy weather.  It was a bit confusing but I don't mind the rain as you know.  Now actual rain mostly came at night for a little bit and then some light drizzle throughout the days.  A lot of overcast but we had some humidity!  One day the humidity was so heavy, it was unbearable but then at 6PM, it was gone like it never happened.  Is that normal?  I have no idea because I'm not used to humidity at all. So what will this mean for the rest of this year?  Not a clue but I would just like the humidity to be gone and some consistency like we are used to here.

At the movies:

Labor Day Weekend Edition... usually this weekend isn't a strong box office draw as the last holiday for the end of Summer.  But this time we did see some good numbers, maybe it's the weather and how much warmer it is across the country, it drove people in the nice AC theatres... new at #1, Denzel is back in The Equalizer 3 with a hefty 34.5 mil.  Very solid franchise overall and should do well post Summer season. Still holding ground at #2 is Barbie earning another 10.6 mil.  Well into the 600 range, it will continue to move forward but at a much slower pace and unlikely to hit 700 but will be close.  Also holding at #3 is Blue Beetle earning 7.3 mil as it makes it to 50 mil cume and will definitely fall short of 100.  Big drop down to #4 is Gran Turismo: Based on a True Story with 6.6 mil and over a 60% drop.  Quickly out of gas and out of time.  Rounding off the top 5 is Oppenheimer with 5.5 mil and will soon be out of the top 5 but very solid film and numbers!
