Hawaii Edition

Away on the island of Maui this week ... the weather is very humid but skies are clear.  The views are amazing, nothing but ocean and I can see two other islands from the room.  Everything is so picturesque and the locals are very friendly but it could be because most of the coast areas are tourist driven.  I do prefer the various blue waters over the green back home.  Makes you wonder being the same ocean!  But the island life ... not to shabby.

Weekly Update:
Aside from the current trip to Maui, Hawaii ... pretty easy week.  Had a nice flight to Honolulu first and then a quick jump from there to Maui.  That short trip was shorter than going to Las Vegas which surprised me.  As soon as we took off, we were pretty much starting the descent!  Did a luau on Friday which was fun.  The food was really good and the show fun.  The highlight always seems to the be the fire performance.  Saturday had a BBQ which was OK, got there late so the food was cold but that was our own fault.  Sunday was the rehearsal dinner for the wedding that takes place Monday night.  It was at a nice beach front restaurant called "Dukes" and the food was good.  Since the party was so big, the menu was pre-selected and had a choice of just the entree.  I will say this, the stuffing with the shredded pork in it was great!

At the movies:
The lion still roars at #1 this weekend at the box office as "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted" earns another big 35.5 million and is now past the 100 mil with 120 mil cume.  "Prometheus" manages to hang on to #2 with a sizable drop with an extra 20.2 mil and should pass 100 mil by the end of the week.  New at #3 is the rock-drama of Rock of Ages with a sad song of 15.1 mil.  Slight drop down to #4 in its 3rd week is "Snow White and The Huntsman" with another 13.8 mil.  Rounding off the top 5 is the comedy That's My Boy with a disappointing 13 mil.

Other News:
Here is a list up my alley ... Top 10 Embarrassing Movies Made by Legendary Actors!  Let's check it out ... #10) Helen Mirren - Caligula (1979):  I have never seen this one but it doesn't look like my kind of movie to begin with. #9) George Clooney - Return of the Killer Tomatoes! (1988):  I have seen the original movie but this has to be one of Clooney's first roles so you can't really blame him for it.  #8) Marlon Brando - The Island of Doctor Moreau (1996): One of his last few movies he made before he passed away and even though I never saw it, you can tell it was a piece o' crap.  #7) Tom Hanks - The Bonfire of the Vanities (1990): Never saw this one but Hanks does have a few bombs in his credit list. #6) Anthony Hopkins - Freejack (1992): This whole movie had an interesting concept but bottom line, it was boring for a sci-fi action film. #5) Ben Kingsley - The Love Guru (2008): I enjoyed this one but it wasn't a masterpiece by any stretch plus Kingsley has done both great films and bad! #4) Gary Oldman - Tiptoes (2003): Never heard of this film but Gary Oldman has sure gotten better with age lately. #3) Robert DeNiro - The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle (2000): DeNiro has done a lot of bad movies that outweigh his good.  #2) Michael Caine - Jaws: The Revenge (1987): I never knew they made a 4th Jaws! #1) Al Pacino - Jack and Jill (2011) Pictured: This film was listed as one of THE worst for 2011 and at the same time, made a ton of money which was shocking.
