Super Moon Edition

Apparently Saturday was the Super Moon ... what does that mean?  It is the point in which the moon is the closest to the Earth and will look extremely big and close but really isn't ... well technically it is.  This would also fall in line with a New Moon because not only would it be a Full Moon (which is a Full Moon for the start of a new month) but all three terms can apply.  But you have to wonder why almost every New (or Full) Moon is almost rarely not during the first week of a new month ... just goes to show you that Astronomy and our calendar are not aligned and will never be since the shifts and such through the many many years have caused things to be off ... and why astrology is not ... real.

Weekly Update:
Not a very busy week so that was nice.  Got some much needed sleep and rest after the previous week of being in Vegas and the craziness that came along with it.  I must say, I do love visiting Vegas but I can't imagine living there ... I can't imagine being there more than 7 days although I do come close sometimes!  Sort of like other cities I love to visit like San Francisco and the whole bay area ... but wouldn't want to live there necessarily.  Although there I could visit for a longer period of time and have.  But looking ahead to this next week ... going to busy unless some stuff fall through which is both possible and welcomed.  I guess time will tell but I know for sure the Wednesday stuff won't fall through and that will be a long day at best.  Keeps one busy I guess which is good.

At the movies:
No surprise at the box office but the super-heroes take the crown!  Opening big at #1 is Marvel's The Avengers with a record-breaking 200.3 million for its debut!  This film has already made over 100 mil overseas so no doubt enjoying its 350+ mil worldwide gross.  Drop down to #2 is "Think Like A Man" with another 8 mil.  Holding ground at #3 is "The Hunger Games" with another 5.7 mil as it continues to struggle to reach 400 mil but just may fall short.  At #4 is "The Lucky One" with an additional 5.5 mil.  Rounding off the top 5 is "The Pirates! Band of Misfits" earning 5.4 mil as it will fizzle out next week.

Quote of the week:
"Any man who has the brains to think and the nerve to act for the benefit of the people of the country is considered a radical by those who are content with stagnation and willing to endure disaster." - William Randolph Hearst

Other News:
Forbes recently put out a new and short list of the top 5 fastest growing cities in the United States.  Amongst the many factors of why people are moving to these cities are simply basic things ... cost of living, cost of homes and jobs.  Let's take a look ... #5: Salt Lake City, UT - The projected economic growth for the next 5 years is at 4.4% along with a 1.5% population growth (although I suspect that number might be under projected).  The Current population is 1.16 million and median income at around 65k.  #4: Houston, TX - Economic growth (5 years) is 6.1% with pop growth at 2%.  Current population is 6.2 mil with income at 55k.  I know Houston has been growing in business in general so not surprised here.  #3: San Jose, CA - 4.7% econ growth rate with pop only at .9%  Current pop is 1.9 mil and income at 83k.  I would suspect this to be pretty accurate as San Jose is close to the tech world which everyone loves and is interested in especially single males which would explain the lower pop growth.  #2: Dallas, TX - growth rate of 5% with pop at 2.2%.  Current pop is at 6.2 mil with 55k median income.  Again another Texas city is not surprising plus plenty of land to build with the growth.  #1: Austin, TX (pictured) - Economic growth at 6.1% with pop at 2.8%.  Current pop is at 1.8 mil with 56k median.  Austin is actually small in comparison to the other two Texas cities but ... it is on the fast track for growth.
