Hurricane Watch!

Hurricane Irma hit Florida yesterday and the destruction is only starting as it will carry on for another day up the state.  Some of the smaller islands in the Caribbean are almost completely gone, as much as 90% destruction.  The last hurricane the state suffered with a lot of damage was Andrew back in the 90's.  Irma is at least 3x bigger if not more so her destructive power is also that much more.  Right now it is still running its course and there was a state wide evacuation call.  Completely insane but there is no such things as global warming and Irma is just special effects (sarcasm in case it wasn't clear).  All the theme parks in Florida were closed for at least Sunday and today, unsure if it will extend or not depending on the speed of Irma.  Hope all are safe out there!

Weekly Update:
It started off looking like a busy week.  Then it became a slow week because a bunch of meetings got cancelled.  Now that I don't mind that but at the same time these are pretty useful meetings so hopefully the information won't double up this coming week.  But most of the time I don't care for meetings if they have little content and really just to have them.  I have other things I could be doing or being more productive.  So when a good meeting gets cancelled, that is kind of a bummer but it happens.  Although I will say the times I had to travel for a meeting, 99% of those were such a waste of time and money to just meet someone when it could have been done over the phone or with today's technology, video conferencing.  Those I do not understand.

At the movies:
What a weekend!!  BIG win for both WB and the box office as "IT" comes in at #1 with a HUGE 117.2 million to open, shattering all expectations.  Reviews are good to fair with some saying it was not scary as they had hoped.  But at this rate, sure to break 300 mil unless it drops drastically.  New and at a very distance 2nd is "Home Again" with only 9.3 mil and very close to expectations on that one.  Quick burn out and I guess you can't go home again.  Dropping down to #3 is "The Hitman's Bodyguard" with 4.9 mil more.  Despite being #1 for three weeks it won't break the 100 mil cume ceiling.  Holding at #4 is "Annabelle: Creation" with an extra 4 mil as it inches closer and closer to 100 mil.  I guess WB should stick to the horror genre for a bit.  Rounding off the top 5 is "Wind River" with 3.2 mil and will quickly fade out.
