A little warm, a little cold.  Had both sides of the spectrum this past week in our weather but wasn't too hot but warm and wasn't freezing, just chilly.  Felt a little humid a few times but just wondering if that was me due to running around ... not sure to be honest.  I think it was humid because it got pretty cloudy one day when it was clear just before.  But I am not meteorologist ... in fact I don't think anyone is but certain people can read radar maps better than others.  Do "weather" people go to school for that? How to read a radar and tell people what the weather is?  I think Robin Williams said it best in "Good Morning Vietnam" with "you want to know what the weather is like? Open a window!"  That is probably the best weather report you can get, well, at least for that very moment.  I think with our technology though, we should be close to the point of controlling the weather, no?!  Well, maybe once we have the domed cities.

Weekly Update:
Well this past weekend was a bit nutty.  It was WonderCon, the comic book convention that was at the Anaheim Convention Center for the 3rd year in a row.  I don't know why they just don't make it official and move it there permanently than saying they don't know where it will be each year.  I am sure they are still trying to work a deal out with the city but at least say you are doing that because that is what you are doing.  This con is brought on by the same people who do San Diego and use to be in San Francisco till they were forced to move due to a remodel of the location they were in.  Then apparently the location was done but they did not want WonderCon to return, weird.  I am sure it relieved the residents of mass traffic but at the same time I think it also depleted hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars in potential revenue to the city from tourism.  But while there, saw a bunch of folks and walked around as much as I could.  I will say this, I noticed the cosplay was pretty good this year.  You usually see a lot, and I mean A LOT, of people in costumes that they shouldn't be wearing.  But this time around, it was much improved and pretty cleaver for the most part.

At the movies:
For a third week in a row, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" manages to defend his lead with another 26.6 million at the box office!  Now breaking 200 mil in its domestic box office run!  Also holding on to 2nd place is "Rio 2" with an extra 22.5 mil and closing in on 100 mil mark, should hit it by the end of next weekend.  New at #3 is Heaven is For Real with a decent 21.5 mil to open and exceeds all expectations at the box office.  Showing up at #4 is Transcedence with only 11.2 mil for its debut and below all expectations.  I knew it wouldn't get to the 20 mil range but didn't expect it to be this bad.  Rounding off the top 5 is A Haunted House 2 with only 9.1 mil to open and below most expectations but fell right about where I guessed it at.
New movies that did not make the top 5:
One this week as Disney Nature's Bears open to semi-wide release and earns 4.8 mil.  This was pretty close to expectations and the film should do much better in the after market and possibly during the week as well while still in theatres.

Quote of the week:
