Hello?

One (of many) things I don't understand is when people are out in public and they feel the need to talk to someone on SPEAKER PHONE!!  Ok so you don't have an earpiece, then just hold it up to your ear like back in the day when you had a mic and earpiece, it still works like that.  I was in Panera this past weekend and there was a lady across from me on her phone talking and I could hear both parts of the conversation.  Now it was in Spanish but I'm sure there were others around who speak it and can understand every word you are saying.  Obviously it wasn't a private conversation but now you are just disturbing those around you because for some reason folks on speaker phone tend to talk LOUDER than necessary.  And if you have to talk louder, than just hold it up to your side of your face and have a conversation like normal.  Also, if you do this a lot, get an ear piece or something.  They aren't that expensive anymore, a good pair should be less than $50 now.

Weekly Update:

Last year or the year before I purchased a couple of MRE's to try out.  In case you were not aware but an MRE is Military Ready-to-Eat meal in a pouch.  Everything for one complete meal is one on pouch or bag and used by our military for when they are in the field and don't have access to a kitchen of any kind.  I bought two different ones and tried the beef goulash.  I have to say it was pretty bad!  In fact afterwards my stomach was kind of upset I went and laid down for a bit and ended up falling asleep for over an hour.  Ok so let's go through it shall we... 2 pieces of gum like chicklets that were fine but lasted a minute with flavor.  Came with a piece of "bread" with chunky peanut butter and jam, awful.  It was so dry, the moisture was leaving my body.  I could only eat about 1/3 till I tossed it.  There was like a raspberry powder drink you just mix with a regular bottle of water and that was good.  Some sugar cookies, also terrible and only had a few while tossing the rest. Apple sauce, this was immensely sweet so tossed it after one taste of it.  Then came the beef goulash and it was kind of neat how you add water to this outer pouch and it heats up the food and you serve.  It wasn't bad but came with a salt packet which helped. I wouldn't eat it again unless I had no choice but not as a first pick.  Then at the end I had this protein shake that was a chocolate hazelnut that you add water and shake.  That was pretty good!  So overall I would give it a D+ with the shake being the best thing but I think it was kind of high on sugar.

At the movies:

New at #1 is a Hawaiian holiday with Lilo & Stitch (live version) earning a huge 145.5 million at the box office!  Word-of-mouth is good on this film and should easily get to 200 mil by end of next week.  New at #2 is Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning with 63 mil to open.  Not as big as the #1 spot but still a decent number for this one.  Should get to 100 mil in no time.  Drop down to #3 is Final Destination: Bloodlines with an extra 19.7 mil and getting close to 100 mil, could get there by the end of this week.  Following down to #4 is Thunderbolts* with 9.2 mil more as it struggles to hit 200 mil.  Rounding off the top 5 is Sinners with 8.8 mil and this film has had an amazing run overall!

New movies that did not make the top 5:

Just one this week at #6 is The Last Rodeo with 5.3 mil and for a wide-release not a great number.  This one will be in and out in no time.
