Rain and cool weather!!!  So we got some rain again this week and it was really nice!  Also the weather has been very cool to cold and I love that.  Not sure what this means but seeing green fields again all over the place, it has been such a long time.  This weather, I just do not know what is going on with it.  I think our Summer will be pretty warm if this is the route but then again, nothing has been what it should be anyway.  It has also been windy as well ... I wonder if the Santa Ana's are kicking up and what may mean for more rain or storms?  I don't know how weather works ... and neither do weather people too because they are always wrong in my book.  I mean they get lucky from time to time, sure but then I can do that too and give out percentages because if I am right, the percentage is good.  If I am wrong, the percentage is still good!!  Way to cover yourself.

Weekly Update:
On Wednesday had the opportunity to attend the "Power Ranges" movie premiere.  I never watched the show except maybe an episode or two so this was basically all new to me.  I thought it was overall pretty good.  Some campy parts but still fun and action packed.  I also sneaked into the after-party and that was fun (as they usually are).  While in there got to get pictures with some folks:

*Darce Montgomer - Plays the red ranger and a cool guy.
*Naomi Scott- Plays the pink ranger, super sweet!
*RJ Cyler - Plays the blue ranger, pretty smooth guy.
*Ludi Lin - Plays the black ranger, nice guy.
*Becky G - Plays the yellow ranger and very cool.
*David Denman - I remember him as the deaf football player from "The Replacements" and a great guy!

At the movies:
No surprise this weekend as "Beauty and The Beast" remains at #1 with an extra 88.4 mil. Now just over 300 mil domestic, should easily get to 500 mil when its all done.  Word-of-mouth continues to drive the numbers on this as Disney now paves its way of more live-action remakes of their classic animated films.  New at #2 is Power Rangers with a cool 40.5 mil!  Above all expectations and with that number, sure to open talks for a sequel.  Dropping down to #3 is "Kong: Skull Island" with 14.4 mil and quickly fading away.  New at #4 is Life with 12.6 mil and very close to expectations.  Life on this one has run out already.  Rounding off the top 5 is "Logan" with another 10.2 mil as it just crosses over the 200 mil mark.

New movies that did not make the top 5:
Coming in at #7 this week is CHiPS earning only 7.6 mil and slightly below expectations.  This particular remake just didn't quiet catch that it needed.

Starting to cool down again, some promises of more rain but who knows, they are seriously less and less accurate.  Was suppose to be 100% on this day ... oh maybe not, maybe 50%, no?  Let's move it to the next day.  It does seem they can get the temperate accurate enough within 3 degrees above and below.  But I guess that does give them a 7 point range which is actually pretty wide.  So if you say 70 degrees then if you get between 67 to 73 degrees, I guess that is accurate enough?  I guess that isn't that accurate now that I think about it.

Weekly Update:
These weeks really seem to drag on and on.  Earlier this week I thought it was still February!  Big sadness as time is really is flying by.  Although we don't have seasons here, you can still feel the change from time to time.  Lot of this time is spent sleeping (if you are lucky to get sleep).  A another majority is working and lots of it or doing something for work but not in an office.  Then the things associated with work but not directly working.  Food? small part of time here and there.  Then what else is there?  No social time available any more it feels like and just being tired all the time.  Life sure is fleeting it seems.

At the movies:
No surprises as magic was in the air this weekend!  Big opening at #1 is Disney's live-action version of Beauty and the Beast opening to 170 mil.  Solid reviews on it despite the minor controversy with a southern state theatre denying to play the movie ... they probably lost a lot of potential money this weekend.  Film is on course to be around 500 mil domestic.  Holding ground at #2 is "Kong: Skull Island" with another 28.9 mil and just passes the 100 mil mark for its 2nd week.  Dipping to #3 is "Logan" with an extra 17.5 mil as it slowly closes in to 200 mil, may have that by the end of next week.  Still doing well at #4 is "Get Out" with another 13.3 mil and reviews are solid.  Rounding off the top 5 is "The Shack" with 6.1 mil and doing well for a faith-based film.

DAYLIGHT SAVING EDITION

This past Saturday night to Sunday morning we lost that much needed hour of sleep ... yep, Spring forward time.  So now we have longer days of sunlight, pops up around 6AM and doesn't go away till after 8.  It is kind of weird but I guess it is better than waking up when it is dark and finishing work and its dark again.  I'm sure if I was a farmer this time of year is great to get all the work with the crops done and they need more sunlight than less.  But ... I'm not a farmer.  I just hate having to lose an hour of sleep but I know I will get it back in the Fall which will be great ... oh sleep, how you elude me so.

Weekly Update:
I can never get a good night's sleep still.  I know why, just can't control it ... I can't turn off my brain.  Its constantly thinking and when then I think I should clear my mind and turn it off ... I am then thinking of an empty mind and how its blank!  Its a vicious cycle that I can't get out of and I just have to tire myself out with nights of no sleep that it catches up to me.  I mean, if I am so tired, I just fall asleep but otherwise ... the brain just keeps staying on for some reason.  I have tried sleeping pills in the past and when I am sick, NyQuil.  They do work but man in the morning it is rough trying to get going and feel on the groggy end.  So try to stay away from those, those are side effects I do not need.  So what to do?  Stop thinking, tried that and it doesn't work.  I guess I will just do what I am doing.

At the movies:
No big surprise as Kong: Skull Island takes the box office crown this weekend with 61 million, slightly above expectations.  Word-of-mouth is good on the film so could reach close to 200 mil when it is done.  Dropping down to #2 is "Logan" with another 37.9 mil and now over the 150 mil mark in just 2 weeks.  Still doing strong numbers and should pass 200 mil in no time.  Slight drop to #3 is "Get Out" with another 21.1 mil and just over 100 mil cume for this suspense thriller.  Holding on to #4 is "The Shack" with an extra 10.1 mil and with these numbers it will have an amazing after-market life.  Rounding off the top 5 is "The LEGO Batman Movie" with another 7.8 mil as it quickly wraps up its run.

Starting to heat up a little bit this week ... is the rain done with us now?  Was suppose to get a day of it but ended up like an afternoon as I thought it would (if any at all).  I thought the groundhog saw its shadow which means more Winter?  LIES!  The groundhog lied to all of us.  How does a groundhog even sees it shadow and how do you know if it does?  Does it try to run away from it?  Does it point and say, "Hey, is that me?" and indicates noticing its shadow?  So many questions to this scientific method and unsure of its procedures!!  Was this all done in a lab?  Answers please, I need them.

Weekly Update:
Took some friends to Disneyland yesterday and that was pretty fun.  Good to see and hang out with them and their kids.  I still don't understand why the Peter Pan ride has such a huge line all the time.  I mean granted, its a great ride but not that great.  Out of all the rides in Fantasyland its pretty much triples, if not more, the other lines.  I also ate at a new place I haven't been to before by Splash Mountain.  Its a little hidden but pretty good.  They gave us a free funnel cake dessert because it had been sitting awhile.  It was really great!  I may have to get one next time I'm there.  But overall, fun time!

At the movies:

The doesn't-give-a-dam hero dominates the box office this week as Logan earns top honors.  Opening to a solid 85.3 million and solid reviews, this film looks to be on its way to 200 mil for domestic cume.  VERY small drop to #2 is "Get Out" with another 26.1 million and getting close to 100 mil cume.  New at #3 is The Shack with a nice 16.1 mil, above expectations and should do tremendous after its theatrical release.  Holding on to #4 is "The LEGO Batman Movie" with an extra 11.7 mil and slowly tapering off.  Rounding off the top 5 is Before I Fall with only 4.9 mil and ... right about expectations.
