What is going on in the world ... too much!  The Presidential race is on its way and it is overall pretty sad.  Not even worth talking about to be honest ... so maybe a discussion for another time.  But in general the weather has been very cool which is nice.  I think last year around this time it felt like Summer so this is a nice change ... to be cold during Winter, imagine that!  But I would like to spend time some place where it snows or there is snow on the ground.  Maybe next year I will plan a getaway to the mountains or something, I miss it.  I use to go with the family once a year or every other year with other relatives.  They were all older than me and played board games but it was just nice being around and up in a cabin with snow outside for a week or weekend.  I would like to do that again some time soon.

Weekly Update:
This past Wednesday we had our annual Young Variety Pool Tournament and I could not believe it was the 10th Annual!  Has it been so many and has this event been around that long?  Kind of crazy to think about and in a blink of an eye, you are at 10.  I think the last 7 we have had a good to fair celebrity turn out and this year continued with that small tradition with some familiar faces visiting and joining us.  But we also had some new faces including some past and not so past Power Rangers.  One person who I did not recognize and apparently a friend of one of our board members visited and took a quick picture with:

*Naomi Grossman - best known as Pepper in the TV series "American Horror Story" and incredibly nice.

At the movies:
For the third week in a row, "Deadpool" continues to rule the weekend with another 31.5 million and now just shy of 300 mil.  It should have that by next weekend and carry on to around 350 mil domestic box office.  New at #2 is Gods of Egypt with only 14 mil and around expectations.  Word-of-mouth is below par on this one so it could be a quick burn.  Holding on to #3 is "Kung Fu Panda 3" with another 9 mil and about 130 mil cume.  Holding on to #4 is "Risen" with another 7 mil and quickly dropping.  New at #5 is Eddie the Eagle with only 6.3 mil and below expectations.  The story looks good but maybe just the wrong release date.

New movies that did not make the top 5:
Just one this week as Triple 9 comes in at #6 with only 6.1 mil and pretty much at expectations.  Not much on this film, should be out of theatres sooner than later.

RAIN!  Well, a day of it at least.  Kind of sad that each time we get rain, it is a major event now.  It lasted for about half a day total with heavy and light moments and of course ... it is all dried up.  Hopefully it brought some snow to the mountains so we will get some water this Spring for a day, maybe two!  WOOHOO ... so lame.  Plus, as always, the weather report was wrong again!  Shocker, I know.  It was suppose to be here on Thursday afternoon but instead showed up Wednesday afternoon.  Is it that hard to see clouds moving on a radar and calculate the speed in which they are moving to get a better prediction of the rain?  But I guess they can not even get the weather right no matter what ... do we need weather men/women any more as part of the news since we have phone apps now?

Weekly Update:
Started some new training this week and new hours for work ... it is very tiring waking up at the crack of dawn but also very odd being home before 5!  Not use to it and as soon as I get home I just want t nap for an hour for the loss of sleep from the night before.  I still can not go to sleep before 1 AM and having to wake up around 5 AM, you can see how a nap is helpful here.  I use to not care for naps or could never take them but now I guess I am so tired, it just take the nap.  I was hoping it would not mess up my normal schedule but so far it has not but it has only been about a week.  So time will tell, sort of a case study I guess.  Hopefully I can enjoy a daily nap and still not be up all night till 1 or 2 AM only to be super tired the following day.

At the movies:

Still a dead weekend as "Deadpool" holds on to #1 as predicted earning another 55 million.  A bit of a surprise drop but it was a holiday weekend last week and the film is well past 200 mil domestic cume now.  Holding ground at #2, "Kung Fu Panda 3" with another 12.5 mil and that gives 20th Century Fox the top 2 spots!  Panda 3 is now into the 100 mil club and should cap out around 150 when it is said and done.  New at #3 is Risen with 11.8 mil and about expectations, this film should have waited till late March to open.  New at #4 is The Witch with a debut of 8.7 mil and also about on target.  Rounding off the top 5 is "How to Be Single" earning an extra 8.2 mil and likely the last time in the top 5.

New movies that did not make the top 5:
Just one this week as Race comes in at #6 with only 7.3 mil and a little below expectations.

Well looks like we are heading back into Summer ... towards the end of Winter.  Yep, it reached into the 80's again with no cool breezes but the nights have at least been open-window-during-the-night temperatures.  This is just so insane and ridculous that people STILL continue to not believe global warming exists.  Forget what scientist have been able to prove (over and over again) but just open a window in the middle of Winter and wear your shorts.  Should that not be proof enough?  Or just wearing shorts inside, should that not be enough?  I used the heater back in November but I think that was about it?  So through December and January it has been mostly shorts and t-shirt weather.  I mean hey that is my clothing preference but I would also think a jacket would be required at some point in time?  I don't know, it is simply just bad, very very bad.

Weekly Update:
I am tired ... these 12 hour days, 4 to 5 days a week is exhausting.  It is kind of sad when you wake up and it is pitch dark and by the time your day ends, it is pitch dark again and you are ready for bed.  How does that add up and happen?  It just does, that is all I can say about that.  And each week in the end it just does not seem worth the time spent.  Maybe because this has been going on for about 6 or 7 weeks in a row?  But it is just simply exhausting and when you try to schedule a day in there to rest but it gets overlooked, kind of sucks more.  I need to drink more Jamba Juice because it is tasty and more natural but also expensive.  They have a new program in place via their app but a free boost for a prize level is kind of lame when not so long ago half of them were free and before that, all of them were free.  Sad.

At the movies:
Killing it at the box office, pun intended, is Deadpool at #1 with a huge estimated 135 million holiday weekend gross!  Way above all expectations and word-of-mouth is strong on the film so it will continue to be the box office draw.  Sequel already a lock but this weekend just confirmed it.  Very slight drop to #2 is "Kung Fu Panda 3" with another 19.7 mil and just shy of 100 mil cume.  Should get it by next weekend for sure.  New at #3 and ideal for this weekend is How to Be Single with 18.8 mil and around estimations.  New at #4 is a bit of a disappointment with Zoolander 2 earning only 15.7 mil and right at most expectations.  Rounding off the top 5 is"The Revenant" with 6.9 mil as it slowly winds down but if it picks up some Oscar wins in 2 weeks, it should get a small boost.

Super Bowl Sunday weekend Edition

So the Denver Broncos won and I actually watched most of the game.  And as tradition dictates, if the game is good, the commercials are bad.  If the commercials are great, the game will be bad ... the game was good but not great.  It was fun to watch but the ads were pretty lacking in my opinion expect for the Prius ad, that was pretty entertaining.  One thing I will say about the weekend besides the Superbowl .... freaking Summer weather?!?  It was in the 80's all weekend and I was borderline miserable hot.  El Nino is a myth.

Weekly Update:
Had my last wisdom tooth pulled on Friday because it was decaying and this was fascinating, the nerves under it were calcifying or become a solid to protect themselves.  That is what the dentist showed me in the x-ray and explained to me why it was a white color.  I thought that was pretty neat, the human body and what it can do or tries to do ... in this case it worked till I could get it removed.  They felt it was not worth cleaning it out and keeping it, best to remove it.  So after I was numbed up, it took the oral surgeon a whole maybe 7 minutes to remove it and I did not even realize it was done till they were putting everything away.  But the weekend was spent laying in bed or on the couch, taking some pain meds when needed.  I really did not feel it till the Novocaine wore off which I guess is normal and to be expected.  They estimated a week for the recovery time.

At the movies:

Super Bowl Super Sunday and as predicted, "Kung Fu Panda 3" continues to lead the box office for a 2nd week in a row.  With another 21 million, it is just shy of 70 mil cume but still on track to break 100 mil.  New at #2 is Hail, Caesar! with 11.4 mil to open and good word-of-mouth on this film but more in the art world.  Holding on to #3 is "The Revenant" with another 7.1 mil as it makes its way to 150 mil cume which it should have it by end of tomorrow.  Still in the top 5 is "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" earning another 6.9 mil and now over the 900 mil mark.  Still too far for 1 Billion domestic but it sure made a good try at it.  New at #5 is The Choice with a soft 6.1 mil opening and right about expectations.

New movies that did not make the top 5:
Just one this week as Pride and Prejudice and Zombies comes in at #6 with only 5.2 mil and well below expectations.  I had a feeling zombies have run its course and this kind of nails it.

Some rain but not much.  It was suppose to be a whole day of it, or so I thought but ended up being only about 2 hours.  I thought this El Nino was going to be this horrific weather with tons of rain ... all lies.  And what is up with the incorrect weather reports?  They say it will rain this but it doesn't so they say, oh, we meant this day and it still doesn't.  I think we are better off just looking out the window and determining the weather for our self.  It would be a lot better in planning because we would not be relying on incorrect information all the time!  Just saying.  We need a dome so we can control our own weather.

Weekly Update:
So what happened this week ... nothing?  I can not think of anything that stood out this week for me other than ... nope, nothing at all.  Just a lot of work and more work, it is getting busier for me at least which is fine but I am tired.  Worked several 12 hours days this week, 4 maybe?  I think that is correct but if it is not than that means I worked all 5-days because it is a big blur right now.  I miss the days of making my own schedule as long as I got the work done but now everything is numbers and metrics ... very button pushing and no real incentive to be honest.  But, work is work and strive to be the best at it.

At the movies:
Chopping its way to #1 is Kung Fu Panda 3 with a solid 41 million.  Word-of-mouth is fair to good on the film and should make its way to an over 100 mil cume when it is said and done.  Slight drop to #2 is "The Revenant" with another 12.4 mil in its 6th week and should continue to maintain through the award season.  Gaining back to #3 is "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" with an extra 10.8 mil in its 7th week and just shy of 900 mil, should get that fairly soon.  New at #4 is The Finest Hours with 10.3 mil and not much to write home about on this film.  Rounding off the top 5 is "Ride Along 2" with another 8.4 mil and quickly ending the ride on this film.

New films that did not make the top 5:
Just one wide release this week as Fifty Shades of Black comes in at #9 with only 6.2 mil, below expectations but they were not even that high to begin with.
