HOT!!  Summer is officially here!  Wow it got so hot and a bit humid which is not normal for us at all.  We are a dry heat, 100 degrees that feels like 100.  Not 100 degrees that feels like 120 please!  But luckily we did not get that high just yet and it stayed in the mid 80's which is still too hot.  But with the humidity it felt a lot hotter.  The nights remain nice thank goodness and I hope it continues that way but still, I was hoping we would miss Summer just like how we missed Winter but maybe the opposite of everything was happening this year or something, hoping ... wishing!

Weekly Update:
I finally saw a movie!!  I am so far behind it is not even funny.  I think the newest Avengers film came out over a month ago and I just saw it.  At least I got the chance to see it at a movie theatre instead of on TV which happens more often than not.  So now I just have about 4 more movies to see and I think by the time I see the 2nd one on the list I will then be 10 movies behind!  I just do not have the time.  The other sad part is I do not even have to pay to see a movie!  But then again I do not get the popcorn and soda when seeing a movie simply because I lived on that stuff for over 10-years working at the movie theatre!  I remember the half price hot dog with a box of popcorn (cardboard carry-out tray) and a courtesy cup of soda (10 oz cup!)  I sure do remember those days and also ... do miss them from time-to-time.

At the movies:
For a third week in a row "Jurassic World" continues to dominate at the box office with another 54.2 million and now at the 500 mil cume mark for domestic gross!  On a steady path to hit 600 when it is all said and done.  Holding ground at #2 is "Inside Out" with another 52.1 mil as it zooms past the 100 mil cume and making its way fast to 200 mil.  Should get that by the end of this week possibly.  New at #3 is the R-Rated comedy sequel Ted 2 with a debut of 32.9 mil which is a little below expectations but it is a tough Summer!  New at #4 is Max with a decent 12.2 mil and about expectations.  Rounding off the top 5 is "Spy" holding with an extra 7.8 mil as it struggles to reach 100 mil but just might fall short of it.

I have to say our weather seems ... normal?  So for years, decades even, the Summer was very hot days and then very warm nights.  The kind of thing where you would run your AC even at night but have set temperatures so it will adjust as the temps do.  So lately the days have been very warm to hot and the nights have been cool.  This is not that normal at all for us but it feels like this should be!  I can only hope it stays this way till Winter because it is nice to have the window open and being under the covers when sleeping.  So please please please stay this way ... please?  It would make the Summer at least a bit bearable!  Well, one can only hope!

Weekly Update:
The weeks are starting to blend together that I can not even tell which one is which anymore.  I think I am just so sleepy since I can never go to bed before 1 AM and I wake up every morning any time between 5 AM and 7 AM ... that is not a lot of sleep if you ask me.  I have always had issues with sleep but lately it seems and feels like it has gotten worse and worse.  I do not know why I can not fall asleep any earlier and on days I am home I do sleep almost throughout the day.  I try to stay away from any caffeine and been pretty successful at it.  Just does not add up but something needs to happen or I will collapse!  This isn't normal right?  OK just making sure it wasn't only me but do I try some pills than?  That night time alleve or whatever it is to see if that helps me sleep maybe once or twice a week?  I don't want to get hooked or dependent on that stuff but maybe I should see if it will even work on me.

At the movies:
No surprises this week as "Jurassic World" continues its domination at the box office for the 2nd week in a row with another 102 million and just shy of the 400 mil cume for domestic box office.  No doubt it will hit that mark sometime tomorrow and continue its charge to 500 mil next.  New at #2 is Inside Out with a big 91 mil, above all expectation and this film should enjoy some decent box office numbers for at least one more week.  Holding ground at #3 is "Spy" earning an extra 10.5 mil as it slowly crawls its way to 100 mil cume, should reach it but in time.  Also holding ground at #4 is "San Andreas" with another 8.2 mil as this shaker is quickly settling down.  New and rounding off the top 5 is Dope with only 6 mil, below expectations for most but I did say if it would be lucky if it broke into double digits.

Been having some really nice cool weather for the day and cold at night, I really like it!  But I saw that we are expecting hot temps next week so is the end of this awesome Summer over??  Well, we will see but I hope we do not get any three digit days, that would be insane and terrible at the same time.  I just hope like most weather reports they are a bit off if not completely wrong.  I hate hot ... I always say it is a lot easier to warm up than it is to cool down.  I mean if you are cold, put on a jacket or get some layers or something.  When it is you hot, it usually takes energy like with an air conditioning and that costs money.

Weekly Update:
What did I do this week?  Nothing ... I think that about sums it up, yep, nothing!  Is there anything wrong with that?  Nope!  Not one bit at all!  The ending for a couple of shows I watch are coming up next week so that is sad.  Funny how we get so invested in certain shows now that it has become the norm to talk about it.  I guess that is what social media is for and why we have movies too.  But I guess all good things must end at some point in TV and movie land otherwise they get old and stale.  Some should have ended sooner while others could have lasted a bit longer.  I think a show like MASH went on too long, 10 seasons which is about 250 episodes or so.  Toward the end it was a very political show was so few laughs.  It really turned dark and could have concluded around Season 8 perhaps.  But at that time there were not as many channels and shows as we have now that if something ended maybe no one would notice.

At the movies:
BIG surprise overall at the box office this weekend as Jurassic World wakes up the numbers earning a 204.6 million debut with Thursday midnights.  But I did have it initially at 200 mil with potential and looks like it wasn't far off!  Universal is flying high right now this Summer with the sequel to the Fast and Furious franchise , Pitch Perfect sequel and now this.  Word-of-mouth on the film is good so this film should reach over half a billion easily.  With so much Summer product there will be enough competition.  Slight drop to #2 is "Spy" with an extra 16 mil and doing just fair overall.  Holding at #3 is "San Andreas" with 11 million and now past the 100 mil cume mark.  Big drop to #4 is "Insidious: Chapter 3" earning an extra 7.3 mil and will fizzle out pretty fast.  Rounding off the top 5 is "Pitch Perfect 2" with 6 mil more and just singing along trying to reach 200 mil cume but will fall short of that.

Some rain, not some rain, maybe some rain ... so it is June and I have heard of April Showers but June Drizzle??  This could be a thing I suppose but as always never enough and it is like a molecule in a very large bucket.  I found this picture when I typed in "drizzle" and I am not sure if this is the best representation of that but I thought it was ... interesting.  So I get three water drops but I am not sure what the four lines mean?  Is that suppose to be fake rain as in we should have drops there but instead it is air so it is a drizzle with less than half water coming down?  Who made this picture and why?  Well, I thought it was interesting enough to add to the post and maybe represents the degree of weather we get or that all clouds are fluffy on the top but very flat on the bottom.  It's science and this picture proves that!

Weekly Update:
I can not remember anything of importance of this week.  Did I do anything, did I go any where?  nooooo, I don't think I did but tried to sleep and catch up on some shows as one of the dvr's are stock piling and fast!  So nothing but a couch potato when I get home but that is also exhausting!  Doing nothing can be tiring, who knew!  So I found this picture when I looked up couch potato and I get that we see a big potato lounging in a a big comfy chair type of couch.  In fact it looks very comfortable to me but is that a bag of chips next to it?  Is that cannibalism or something?  Why would a potato each potato chips when it could snack on so many other things ... chips made of corn or veggie sticks!  Oh which I guess is actually mostly made of potato now that I think about it.  Ok, what about some pita bread with hummus?  They could have picked so many different things but instead a bag of potato chips for the potato.

At the movies:
Summer box office continues and no major surprises are popping up just yet.  In at #1 is Spy earning a solid 30 mil and about predicted on both ranking and box office numbers.  Word-of-mouth is good on this one so it could carry well for a few more weeks.  Drop down to #2 is "San Andreas" earning an extra 24.4 mil and just barely shy of 100 mil cume.  No doubt will reach that by end of day Monday and carry on into the mid 150's to cap out at.  New at #3 is Insidious Chapter 3 earning 22.9 mil and also right about on target with predictions.  Fair word-of-mouth but I think this will have a quicker burn this Summer.  New at #4 is Entourage with a 5-day total of 17.8 mil since it opened on a Wednesday.  The weekend number came in at around 10.4 mil and below industry expectations but not mine.  The audience for this was limited to the HBO crowd and look for a fast burn on this one.  Rounding off the top 5 is "Mad Max: Fury Road" with another 8 mil and a cume of 130.8 domestic.  This will more than likely cap around 150 mil.
